Hospitality & Catering

Hospitality & Catering is a course that develops practical cooking skills alongside the knowledge needed to work within one of the UK's largest employment sectors. Students learn to prepare, cook and present a variety of dishes while developing confidence, organisation and teamwork in a professional kitchen environment. The course encourages creativity, independence and attention to detail while helping students understand nutrition, food safety and customer expectations. It is an excellent choice for students who enjoy learning through practical activities.

Hospitality offers careers in restaurants, hotels, cafés, catering, tourism, food production, event management, hospitality management and more. The qualification also provides an excellent pathway into apprenticeships and further education. Students complete one externally assessed written examination alongside a practical coursework unit where they plan, prepare and present a range of dishes.

Students will have opportunities to cater for academy events, achieve a Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification, meet local employers and visit hospitality venues to experience the industry first hand.
